Overview
The Office of Religious Life (ORL) is looking for a professional and self-motivated individual who would be enthusiastic about developing communication strategies and programming that embodies the ethos of the ORL and would appeal to the student population (and broader Princeton community at large).
The Communications and Program Coordinator is responsible for communicating information about the diverse programs and events hosted by the ORL and the Chapel. The Communications and Program Coordinator will therefore perform a wide range of duties in the following areas: partner/student outreach, media content creation & development, website management, program development, program documentation, student supervision, email communications, and special events.
As the ORL is now two years into the implementation of its rebranding, the Communications and Program Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining brand consistency in all campaigns, social media posts, and special projects. The Communications and Program Coordinator will be responsible for all content creation (according to the ORL branding style guide) including: posters for all ORL events and programs, social media content, ORL-themed gear/swag, etc. The accepted candidate will also be expected to hire, supervise, and manage ORL Student Correspondents to support the communication goals of the office.
Additionally, the ORL Communications and Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and organizing a number of annual programs, including the Faith-Based Internship summer program, the Pumpkin Carving event for migrant and refugee families, Hidden Chaplains, and a large ORL conference with rotating themes per year.
Responsibilities
Development of Communication and Programmatic Strategies
Consult with ORL staff members to determine the schedule and communication goals of regular and special programming
Participate and take notes form ORL Staff Meetings
Create campaigns, posters, social media posts, emails, newsletters, videos, websites, and other forms of media to advertise these events
Represent the ORL in Princeton University communications meetings and email lists
Work alongside student correspondents and partner offices to develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans
Implement the recently re-branded ORL identity through campaigns, social media posts and special projectsPartner Outreach
Coordinate communication efforts with partners
Serve as the communications partner liaison for key programs such as Faith-Based Internships, Hidden Chaplains, the Pumpkin Carving event, and annual conferences

Oversee the recruitment/hiring, orientation, training, management and feedback process for Faith-Based Interns and Student Correspondents
Interview and review potential candidates for the positions
Program Coordination
Oversee and organize annual programs such as the following:
Faith-Based Internship: establish internship sites, develop materials for orientation and training, manage work expectation forms, weekly check-in calls, contemplative prompts
Hidden Chaplains: serve as an advisor for the Informal Committee to Investigate Hidden Chaplains, coordinate the nomination process and celebratory event
Pumpkin Carving: connect with partners about attending the event, gather necessary materials and book spaces for the event
Support ORL staff members in their events, such as Diwali at the Chapel, ORL Conferences, Religion and Resettlement Project Symposiums, Vigils and Memorial Services
Oversee the feedback and reporting procedures for programs and make necessary program adjustments or pilot programs
Qualifications
Experience with and ability to use and learn software or platforms including Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets, MS Word, Outlook Email, Adobe In Design, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including active listening
Ability to take appropriate initiative, work independently, and exercise professional judgment
Excellent project management skills, including ability to set project objectives, identify and address issues, identify required resources, identify process steps and adjust action plans to achieve desired outcomes
Commitment to work position for a minimum of three years
2-3 years experience in communications or program coordination
Knowledge of the Office of Religious Life: its mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and role within the broader University
Awareness of interfaith programming dynamics and intentions
Understanding and experience in most news/media mediums including the internet, social media and other emerging platforms
Ability to multitask. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with potentially competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy
