Description: Pratt Institute's Communications and Marketing division seeks a Video Shooter/Editor who will be a key member of the Creative Services team. The Video Shooter/Editor reports to the Photo and Video Production Manager and is responsible for producing video projects from concept to completion. The position requires a high degree of organizational, collaboration, and communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the Institute: students, faculty and administration. This full-time position is considered to be hybrid, with the opportunity for remote work and a minimum requirement of 2 days per week of in-person work on our Brooklyn campus. There is occasional travel to our Manhattan campus, along with various shoot locations throughout the New York/Metro area. Hours can be flexible/asynchronous when needed, as there will be evening and weekend assignments.
Job Requirements
Working closely with Director of Creative services and Photo and Video Production Manager in producing video assets within communications and marketing strategies.
Expertise in digital videography and Adobe Creative Suite video editing.
Experience creating short-form social media videos for platforms including Facebook, YouTube and, Instagram.
Maintain editing, color grading, and archiving all files in an organized manner.
Diverse visual style with strong sense of composition.
Ability to quickly learn new production tools and news shooting styles.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team, independently, and under close direction.
Demonstrate strong video skills to ensure all content meets standards for institutional integrity and production quality.
Ability to process and edit video in a timely manner.
Able to work independently with good communication skills.
Knowledge of Google Drive, Google Workspace, Slack and Asana.
Familiarity with motion graphics and After Effects preferred.
Audio recording and mixing a plus.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends a plus.
Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of video production including storyboarding, filming, editing and post-production. At least 2-3 years of professional experience.
Experience producing video assets within communications and marketing strategies.
Detail-oriented with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, as well in a team situation and with clients, working under pressure, and juggling multiple stages of development are required.
Familiarity with the Higher Education sector is a plus.
SALARY is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $66,000-70,000
