Reporting to the Director of Events and Campus Visitation, the Assistant Director of Events position is responsible for coordinating Undergraduate & Graduate Admissions events, working collaboratively with the Director of Events to support recruitment goals. This position will also oversee and supervise our Charger Ambassadors, student tour guide program, assist with event related enrollment communication activity, and will oversee all event related social media. Tasks will also include interacting with prospective students and their families daily, and data entry.
You will:
Work collaboratively with the Events Team, the admissions team, and other on-campus and off-campus stakeholders to help achieve enrollment goals.
Attend and help coordinate our various Graduate and Undergraduate events throughout the year, Open Houses, Daily Information Sessions, Receptions, Accepted Student Days, Charger Days, Virtual Information Sessions, and other specialized visits.
Ensure an unparalleled customer service experience to all prospective students and families during all on-campus, virtual, and special road events (such as Open House, Accepted Student Day, Accepted Student Receptions) and promote the University in a positive manner to all prospective students and families, alumni, colleagues, and community.
Conduct enthusiastic on-campus, off-campus, and virtual information sessions while working special recruitment events throughout the year.
Responsible for the supervision and day-to-day operations of our Office and Events Charger Ambassadors.
Coordinate and oversee graduate and undergraduate event social media activity.
Assist with sending out event communications when needed; SMS and emails to prospective/accepted students and responding to families in a timely fashion.
Work with the Office of Marketing and Communications to create and implement targeted event invites and publications as needed.
Oversee and update our virtual tour as needed.
Assist with updating event content on the website when needed.
Set-up recruitment events and confirmations within our CRM, Slate.
Assist with follow-up phone calls to prospective/accepted students and families to confirm event registration and help to coordinate call-nights.
Knowledgeable about graduate and undergraduate program offerings.
Ensures that confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained.
Fill in where needed in the office to ensure service standards and efficient operations.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
You need:
Bachelor's degree required.
Ability to represent the University of New Haven in a variety of situations and be able to competently interact with a diverse population of prospective students, faculty, and staff.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
A proactive customer service approach.
Supervision experience a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products required, CRM system experience preferred, preferably with Slate.
Valid driver's license.
The ability to lift to fifty pounds is required for the travel component of the position.
Ability and willingness to travel, as needed.
Ability to work evening and weekends, as needed.
Must demonstrate a tireless commitment to enrolling and retaining a diverse student body.
