Incumbent will be a seasoned database administrator who has a successful track record in setting up, maintaining, securing, and supporting many databases on multiple database servers in a high availability, high transaction environment. The role will also include ensuring top performance for these systems and troubleshooting issues. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to make product development contributions working with a strong, seasoned software development and integration team.

Required Qualifications:
Experience with maintaining databases and systems
Must maintain active learning skills to keep current with technology trends and adapt to changes
Exceptional listening skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning and implementation skills
Ability to apply good judgment and make sound financial and operational decisions quickly with or without detailed supporting information
Experience with Transact SQL scripts and relational and multidimensional database designs
Knowledge in data warehouses, data marts, and other business intelligence concepts
Strong time management skills
Demonstrated experience using software source control
Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and ITIL principles in relation to Enterprise Systems and Applications
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance
7+ years of SQL Server Database Administration
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, hardware platforms, storage systems, networking concepts, virtualization, etc.
Experience with using SQL Server on Amazon or Azure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking ability to analyze complex problems then formulate and apply effective solutions.
Ability to implement and evaluate automated processes and flows
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Expert knowledge of system administration and security protocols for client/server environment deployed using Windows.
Understanding and experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed
Oracle or Microsoft SQL experience (specifically relating to storage and backup/recovery)
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification
Experience working in an academic hospital IT department
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and safeguarding protected health information (PHI)
Master's Degree in a technical or business discipline
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
