The University of the Cumberlands located in Williamsburg, Ky., is currently seeking an individual for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director. Cumberlands, a member of the Mid-South Conference and the NAIA, sponsors 30 sports and has 800 student-athletes participating in the various programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist in overseeing the daily operation of the Sports Information department •will serve as the main contact for sports as assigned •will promote UC athletics through various social media platforms • delegation of responsibilities to student assistants and Work-Study •prepare and disseminate information on each athlete in each sport and send to all appropriate media outlets •promote and work for national recognition of deserving athletes and teams •responsible for all media needs at athletic events •assignment of coverage for news events with articles and photos •oversee reporting of statistics to the conference and national levels by deadlines •create and develop social media graphics and programs.
Bachelor’s degree required. Must have integrity and leadership skills, strong organizational and communication skills, be attentive to details, have the ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment, maintain confidentiality, show initiative, handle frequent interruptions and manage multiple projects while keeping an organized workflow. Must be able to work effectively in a diverse work environment, collaborate with colleagues and mentor and lead student athletes. Must have a working knowledge of statistical software (Presto, Genuis or StatCrew). Knowledge of Adobe Office and video experience preferred.
