Capital & Main, a nonprofit news publication, is seeking a development associate for a full-time position. The development associate will work directly with the publisher on a range of projects, including:
Writing grant applications and grant reports
Researching prospective foundation, private and corporate donors
Managing the grants database
Scheduling donor meetings
Planning and assisting with donor events
Managing publisher’s calendar and travel arrangements
Overseeing letter distribution for tax deductible donations
Applicants should have the following skills:
1-2 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising or grant writing or equivalent
Strong writing skills
Strong research skills
Proficiency in database and spreadsheet management
Highly organized
Strong communications skills and ability to work well with a range of co-workers
Interest in journalism and the issues that Capital & Main covers
The development associate will work primarily at Capital & Main’s Echo Park office but some hybrid flexibility can be discussed. The position may require some weekend and evening hours.
