Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the TSU Administrative Assistant
are to do administrative work within the Dyer County Cooperative
Extension Office assisting TSU Agents and Program Assistants.
Duties/Responsibilities
1. Operate within the rules and regulations set forth by Tennessee
State University and the University of Tennessee Extension
programs.
2. Cooperate with all extension personnel, attend all necessary
meetings to carry out the objective of the programs. Examples
include Coordination of Annual CRD Awards Programs, 4-H
Programs, SNAP Education Programs and Master Gardener Program
as needed.
3. Professional dress and conducting business in a professional,
courteous manner with clientele and colleagues. Maintain a
professional office space.
4. Organize, create, and assist in developing materials and securing
facilities for meetings, demonstrations, field days, etc.
5. File required written reports and other information in a timely
manner.
6. Maintain inventory records and assist in annual inventory audits
for TSU and UT Extension.
7. Type and assemble educational materials including newsletters,
news articles, digital graphics, websites, social media, and quarterly
programming reports.
8. Procure supplies, equipment, and material used in the
Cooperative Extension program which may require some travel.
9. Edit and process time reports, monthly mileage and outgoing
mail, process payments from clientele, and enter clientele data into
SUPER or DASH as needed.
10. Assist in the coordination of the Special Summer Food Service
Program/Afterschool Program maintaining accurate records and
preparation for State Audit. Collaborate with
Dyer County Finance Director to organize invoices, time sheets, and
other reports as needed. Require some travel.
11. Be able to work with minimum supervision and know when to
consult the Agents.
12. Is responsible for Extension Agents, Program Assistants and
County Director for Extension programing and office directions.
13. Assist and work with other programs areas if needed
