The Program Assistant provides administrative support for professional development programs at The Ohio State University John Glenn College of Public Affairs. The Program Assistant reports to the operations manager and works collaboratively alongside the program consultant, program manager, and program coordinators.
Program support: Provide administrative support for professional development programs. Administer and transcribe program evaluations. Order, prepare, and distribute course materials. Assist with the administration of program applications, registrations, Cvent content, venues, sessions, agendas, instructors, partners, catering needs, course materials and supplies, lodging needs, parking, and day-of logistics. Assist with the implementation of fundraising events. Attend events as necessary.
Instructor support: Assist with instructor correspondence on course logistics. Administer and transcribe instructor evaluations. Assist with the maintenance of instructor information.
Customer support: Act as a college/unit/program ambassador. Assist with the maintenance of customer information. Interact with program instructors and participants on routine matters.
Marketing support: Assist in the development and posting of content for print materials, website, and social media. Assist with program recruitment via outreach events.
Operations support: Create invoices and track checks and accounts receivable. Process payments and refunds. Submit financial transactions in Workday. Participate in college meetings as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Selected candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and accountability, collaborative team player, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, able to lift up to 25 lbs, and outstanding communication, time management, and organizational skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of relevant experience, bachelors degree in business, public affairs, or related field. Experience in public, non-profit, or higher education, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Experience with Cvent and Adobe suite, or other database programs and website maintenance, and flexibility to attend events during evenings and weekends in addition to standard workdays.
The hourly rate for this position will be $18.17 to $23.90 to be determined by internal equity and the candidate's education and experience.
Position is located in Columbus, OH with an onsite presence in Page Hall.
