The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of managing all aspects of digital video production. This includes concepting, planning, interviewing, script writing, shooting, editing in Adobe Premiere, creating graphics and other effects, and incorporating sound, music, and photographs. This position assists the Associate Director of Marketing and Digital Media in supporting strategic communication and marketing efforts through the development and production of video content for websites, social media, marketing emails, digital advertising, and live events.
The Office of Communication and Marketing is a select team of creative practitioners focused on strengthening SUNY Oneonta's reputation and supporting institutional priorities through strategic, coordinated efforts to promote the university. Staff responsibilities encompass marketing, advertising, management of the university website and institutional social media channels, media relations, content development, digital media production, graphic design, printing, and identity and brand management.
Develop new and innovative video content concepts and ideas for engaging prospective students.
Research topics for specific video projects, create storyboards and interview questions, and coordinate video shoots and interviews with students, faculty, and staff.
Handle all aspects of video production for Admissions events, including storyboarding, scripting, shooting, and editing videos.
Create video content for digital advertising campaigns.
Develop digital content for the university's institutional social media channels.
Manage the university's YouTube presence, including uploading and curating video content, monitoring copyright claims and accessibility compliance, and assessing video reach and engagement.
Support institutional communication workflows by recording and editing video messages for internal and external audiences.
Engage with television media representatives to provide video content to them as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Two years of experience with video production in a professional environment.
Proficiency with Adobe Premiere.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
A demo reel or digital portfolio that includes at least one short-form and one longer-form video will also be required.
Preferred:
More than two years of experience with video production in a professional environment.
Proficiency with Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition.
Technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting digital video camera equipment.
Proficiency with lighting, green screen, and audio equipment for video production.
Strong written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Photography experience.
Graphic design skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
FAA Remote Pilot Certificate.
Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
