Position Information: The School of Education (SOE) at the University of California Riverside (UCR) is committed to its mission to advance equitable educational systems and practices which are driven by core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion. Under the direction of the School of Education (SOE) Manager of Information Technology and Director of Marketing and Communications, the Information Systems Analyst supports IT services used by the faculty, staff, researchers and instructional programs and supplies technical expertise to meet the challenges of this increasingly dynamic environment. Responsibilities include support of IT services, including service delivery, server and desktop deployment and maintenance, and development of new technical solutions. The Information Systems Analyst remains current with developments in the field, supports established IT procedures and standards, helps implement work flow processes, and ensures consistent delivery of IT services. In addition, this position is responsible for monitoring and upgrading the School of Education website and all associated websites. Displays an excellent understanding of content management systems (CMS) and technology infrastructures using CSS, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Comfortable troubleshooting websites and constantly improving their design, functionality, and User Experience (UX). This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). Strong candidates will have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. In addition, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment, with some back-end knowledge, is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of racial literacy given that UCR is an HSI, MSI, and AANAPISI located on Indigenous lands in what we now call the Inland Empire.
This position is eligible for hybrid work.
The full salary range for the Information Systems Analyst is $30.80 - $54.74 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $43.10 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

General knowledge of several areas of IT.
Knowledge relating to the design and development of software. Basic knowledge of secure software development.
Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Basic knowledge of incident response procedures. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a higher education hybrid environment.
Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications. Experience designing and developing responsive design websites.
Extremely fluent with HTML5/XHTML and CSS.
Experience working with PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery. Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery
Personal and/or professional experience and demonstrated capacity or record of commitment to serving racially diverse communities. Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Ability to understand CSS changes to have consistent style across platforms and browsers. Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages.
Experience developing web solutions in Drupal and PHP implementations in a LAMP environment. Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture. Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as CTools, Views, and Panels. Experience creating custom Drupal modules. Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery. Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer. Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.
