St. Andrew’s School seeks a full-time sports information officer. The sports information officer works closely with St. Andrew’s director of athletics and director of communications and is a key member of the athletics department, providing leadership in athletics-related communication and setting the strategic tone of St. Andrew’s sports communication to support our approach to amateur athletics, our view of the role of sports in a liberal education, and our commitment to developing multi-sport athletes.
The schedule is based on the athletic program's schedule. Collaborative hours and flex hours will be established, with required nights and weekend coverage occasionally needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee communication strategy for St. Andrew’s athletics consistent with the school’s mission and values.
Oversee filming and/or livestreaming of all home games. Responsibilities include actual filming/livestreaming of games; maintaining all video and livestream equipment; managing a team of student videographers; managing Playsight and Hudl livestreaming platforms, uploading and sharing video to YouTube, Vimeo, school website, and other platforms as needed; and coordinating with outside vendors as needed.
Shoot photo and video (separate from livestreaming) at home games, some away games, and practices throughout each season.
Maintain and regularly share data on viewership and usage of all sports information outlets to assist director of athletics in setting department priorities.
Take and/or coordinate each season’s team photos, and organize and maintain historic team photo archives.
Keep relevant statistics for all varsity programs; manage and edit all box scores on sas-saints.com and the St. Andrew’s website.
Write game recaps for all varsity programs for the school website.
Manage athletics social media channels; post game recaps/highlights in a timely fashion on Twitter and Instagram, and occasionally, Facebook. Attend state tournaments and other major competitions and post live updates to Twitter.
Write and create content for digital and print communications including but not limited to season reviews, team/athlete/coach profiles for St. Andrew’s website news and alumni magazine.
Coordinate a small number of student stringers and/or team managers who will do photo/video, write-ups, and statistics.
Ensure school Google Calendars are up to date with sporting events.
Explore, evaluate, and implement new sports information platforms and technologies at the request of the director of athletics or director of communications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with photography and videography.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office Suite, Adobe design suite, film and audio editing; expertise in graphic design, web design and social media.
Experience exporting, compiling and analyzing communication data and reports, assessing communication data and using it to inform strategy.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
Ability to work late afternoons, evenings, and weekends; occasional travel will be required.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of relevant experience in sports information, athletics, education, communication, media, social media, or web design.
Conditions of Hire:
