The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement will play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and engaged alumni community. This position is responsible for developing and managing programs and initiatives that connect alumni with the university and with each other. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for building relationships and enhancing alumni experiences.
Manage the Alumni Online Community and Virtual Book Club: Oversee the growth and engagement of the alumni online community and foster meaningful interactions and connections among alumni members. Manage the virtual book club to enhance alumni engagement and intellectual stimulation.
Coordinate Communication Efforts: Coordinate, design, and disseminate emails to alumni and friends. Assist in developing and maintaining the office's communication schedule. Develop and implement marketing strategies for the Alumni Association awards programs. Coordinate communication efforts to promote and highlight award recipients.
Lead Alumni Magazine Production: Oversee the design and layout for the alumni magazine, Reflections. Develop the editorial schedule and coordinate photography.
Lead and Elevate Social Media Presence: Stay up to date with changes in social media platforms. Manage posts, advertising campaigns, and engage with existing conversations. Analyze data and research to best utilize communication tools.
Lead the Creation Multimedia Content: Create video content for alumni events, online, in-person, and hybrid. Work with a digital illustrator to create compelling graphics.
Supervise: The Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist, social media interns, and our federal work study students.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Proven experience working in advancement or alumni engagement.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
Additional:
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Experience in managing multimedia content creation.
Preferred:
Supervisory experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with diverse populations and promote inclusive and equitable practices within the alumni community.
