Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detailed-oriented and responsive Admissions & Communications Assistant to join our growing team! This role is a critical position on the Enrollment Management team, the department responsible for attracting new families to Léman and communicating our unique school attributes. As the Admissions & Communications Assistant, you’ll greet visiting families, guide families through the application process, help organize admissions events, write school communications, post to social media, and more. This is a great opportunity to learn the inter-workings of a school and grow your communications skills.
This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Head of Communications & Enrollment Management. The Admissions & Communications Assistant is part of a 10-person Enrollment Management team that also includes six admissions professionals, an Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications, and a Digital Communications Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Admissions
- Support day-to-day operations of the Admissions and Communications functions at Léman
- Serve as a visible point of contact for applicant families in the admissions process
- Convey Léman’s warmth and school spirit to visitors and support families with questions about the application process
- Correspond with families in a service-oriented manner about the status of their application and upcoming admissions deadlines and events
- Process student applications and ready files for Committee Review
- Assist Admissions team members in scheduling parent interviews and student assessments
- Collaborate with Admissions, IT and Facilities to manage event logistics for admissions tours, community building events and special projects
- Report on admissions data and trends from internal systems and outside research
Communications
- Write and design school emails, newsletters and social media posts about school developments and news
- Attend school events as needed to take photos or videos
- Make edits to school website to reflect ongoing school initiatives and convey our school spirit
- Manage school calendar, emergency alert system, parent and faculty/staff directory and enrollment and admissions databases
- Maintain photo and video archive; source content for marketing and promotional materials as requested
- Oversee sourcing and ordering of branded school items that drive school spirit
- Manage departmental calendar and schedule for Head of Communications & Enrollment Management
- Other duties as assigned by the department head
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least two years of experience in marketing, communications, school admissions or related field
- Professional, service-oriented approach; reliable and responsive
- Flexible and effective at juggling multiple projects at the same time
- Able to anticipate questions and potential challenges; resourceful in finding solutions
- Effective at collaborating with many departments and individuals across the school
- Detail-focused and able to learn and grow from mistakes
- Superb writing and verbal skills
- Tech-savvy and proficient with all Google Suite applications and MS Office
- Able to attend evening and weekend school events as needed
