Summary Position The Assistant Director of Marketing Communications for Elon's Love School of Business develops and executes strategies and tactics that enhance communications, create engagement among target audiences, build overall awareness and enhance the reputation of the LSB, with a particular emphasis on growing the faculty and student profile of the graduate programs. This is a position for a talented individual who can promote the LSB, its missions and the success of students, faculty, and alumni. Reporting to the Assistant VP for Academic Communications in the Office of University Communications, the Assistant Director is assigned full-time to the Love School of Business, and in this role builds and maintains close relationships with the dean, faculty and staff of the school for the purpose of planning, implementing and measuring the impact of compelling marketing strategies and tactics that promote the mission, strategic goals, opportunities, programs, people and events of the school to audiences that include prospective and current students, alumni, the community and others. The Assistant Director will work independently to produce, edit and distribute news, features, electronic and print marketing materials and social media content in alignment with larger branding and marketing strategies and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions
Act as the primary liaison between LSB and the central Office of University Communications, ensuring that the marketing and communication needs of the school are met within the context of the overall University brand and marketing standards. Plans effective use of central marketing resources in support of these efforts.
Partner with the dean, faculty and staff of the school to support marketing strategies and campaigns for undergraduate and graduate recruitment by featuring academic programs, career opportunities and alumni outcomes associated with the school to prospective students in local, state and regional markets.
Enhance the visibility of the school in the community through effective marketing and promotion of public and special events such as lectures, symposia, presentations, competitions, and conferences.
Assist with the creative design, content creation, and publication of annual reports, newsletters and other mailings. Oversee internal staff writers and designers in relation to these projects and work with University Communications to help manage vendor relationships.
Establish and maintain an alumni engagement strategy. Obtain and manage alumni contacts and develop alumni communications. Work with the central alumni relations office to identify relevant marketing and public relation opportunities to enhance the schools image. Amplify and position alumni success/ storytelling.
Plan, write, edit, produce and disseminate a variety of marketing communications materials, including news and features for print magazines, copy for websites and e-news, copy for PowerPoint presentation and copy for brochures and other marketing materials. Examples may include material sourcing, coding, spec management, and distribution (mail merge, etc.).
Plan and execute effective advertising strategies that support the goals of the school, including development of advertising strategies, sponsorships, and plans in accordance with established budgets, and in coordination with the Office of Graduate Admissions when advertising graduate programs.
Build and enhance the LSB websites in accordance with best practices and in alignment with strategic marketing goals. Ensure websites are current, accurate and relevant to target audiences. Create and execute a plan for Search Engine Optimization that will drive organic traffic to the LSB program website, with a particular emphasis on graduate programs.
Build and enhance the LSB social media presence including but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Plan, manage and coordinate social media activities, including creating, scheduling and monitoring posts and updates, and engaging with and responding to social media audiences. Use analytics software and Google Analytics to monitor and manage social media performance.
Assist with the scripting and development of video content, including department or program-specific videos for web or social media.
Supervise and manage student workers/graduate assistants in the school and/or on the marketing team.
Consult with departments and centers to enhance marketing efforts and maintain brand standards.
Develop relationships with students actively involved in the school to identify and pursue marketing opportunities.
Assist with event planning for top-level LSB institutional programs, coordinate event marketing, and ensure event documentation (photography, videography, etc.) for use in publications.
Maintain knowledge about peer and aspirants business schools marketing activities and standards and introduce new ideas to the LSB marketing strategy and practices.
