The Communications Manager position develops and leads communications for both the Finance and Budget and Campus Enterprise departments. This position provides a strategic and integrated approach to communications for complex, highly visible projects using a variety of messaging strategies and platforms to communicate to a wide-ranging audience of faculty, staff, students and the local community. The Communications Manager works closely with department leadership teams to develop messaging strategy and provides guidance and support for communications issues and projects as needed. This position oversees and manages Finance and Budget and Campus Enterprises websites, social media accounts, print and electronic publications, and campuswide messaging. In addition to the primary departmental communications tasks, the Communications Manager leads the coordination of the production of the University's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Annual Operating Budget Book. The Communications Manager works as a member of the Finance and Operations communications team and serves as the liaison between Finance and Budget and Campus Enterprises employees and communications staff to support communications efforts for the division. This position's work also involves developing and maintaining working relationships with communications specialists across the University to promote division news and information internally and externally.
Education and Experience:
Experience with website management platforms such as WordPress. Working knowledge of graphic design software such as Photoshop or Canva. Experience with newsletter management platforms such as iContact or MailChimp. Experience working in a higher education environment. Knowledge of web and digital accessibility requirements.
